Claims Policy
What we say about the pen, and what we deliberately don't.
Last updated September 4, 2026
This page explains exactly what AcuNova claims about its acupressure pen, and where we draw the line. We describe the product two ways, by what the hardware verifiably does, and by the tradition it draws on, and we never blur the two into a health claim.
What the hardware does
The AcuNova pen is a handheld device that delivers a low-intensity electrical pulse through a metal tip, across a range of selectable intensity levels, with interchangeable heads that change how much pressure and current land per square millimetre. The body is ABS and aluminium alloy. That is the entire mechanism, there is nothing else inside the casing.
These are physical facts about the product and we stand behind them. If the unit you receive does not power on, does not step cleanly through its intensity range, or arrives missing a head, contact us, see our Refund & Return Policy.
The acupressure tradition
Acupressure is the practice of applying pressure to specific points mapped in classical Chinese medicine. Those point maps have been in continuous use for a very long time and are still what every modern acupressure chart is drawn from. Many people find the points useful as part of a self-massage routine.
We describe that history because it is true and it is why the product exists in this shape. We do not present it as anything more than what it is: a tradition, not a proven mechanism. Where research exists it is mixed, and we would rather say so than round it up.
What we do not claim
We do not say the pen treats, cures, prevents, or diagnoses any medical or psychological condition. We do not say it has a measurable effect on circulation, inflammation, mood, sleep, or health. Nothing we sell is a medical device, a supplement, or a therapeutic product, and nothing in our marketing should be read as such. The pen has not been evaluated or cleared by the FDA or Health Canada.
If you're buying for a specific health outcome, this isn't the product for that, and we'd rather tell you now than after your order.
Marketing and reviews
Any testimonial or review we publish reflects one customer's personal experience or opinion, not a guaranteed or typical result, and is never edited to imply a health outcome we don't otherwise claim.
Questions about a specific claim
If something on this site reads to you like a health claim, we consider that a bug, not a feature, email us at the address below with the page and the exact wording, and we'll review and correct it.
